For three weeks in the year 2002, an Army vet and a seventeen-year-old kid crisscrossed the Washington DC area doing one thing: murdering innocent people chosen at random. Did they do it to extort ten million dollars from the government to start a utopian society? Or was it to murder a wife, and take back custody of children? And why would a young man follow so aimlessly the orders of another, ultimately becoming the man responsible for weeks of shootings? This is the story of John Allen Muhammad and Lee Boyd Malvo.
